Connect your ad accounts in minutes

Start from your Meta, Google Ads, and Google Analytics exports, plus your Facebook and Instagram pages, in Excel or CSV. For each tool, the deployment guide gives you the numbers to export and where to put them in the delivered Excel file. The report fills in, then updates with every new export.

Meta & Google Ads Performance Report
  • Meta Ads
  • Google Ads
  • Google Analytics
  • Facebook
  • Instagram
  • Excel

In three steps

  1. Test it

Open the report with the anonymized dataset: everything already works.

  2. Connect your data

Export your Meta and Google campaigns, your Google Analytics numbers, and your page insights, then bring them into the delivered Excel file. Then point Power BI Desktop to that file, with the guide at hand.

  3. Check and publish

Compare the report's spend with Meta and Google Ads and run the guide's five checks, then publish the report for your team.

We list the big names, but the report connects to any data source. Not sure about yours? Email me a sample of your export at emilien@datapilot.fr, and I'll get back to you within 48 business hours.

FAQ

From your tools: Meta Ads and Google Ads for your campaigns, Google Analytics for your site, Meta Business Suite for your Facebook and Instagram pages. The simplest way is an export from each tool, in Excel or CSV; the deployment guide explains how to bring it into the delivered Excel file. We list the big platforms, but the report connects to any data source.

Yes, if you buy ads on Meta and Google. We built it on a project for tourism companies, and its metrics apply to every industry.

No. Leave the tables of the sources you don't use empty: the report fills in with the others. I can help you connect your tools and answer your questions.

Yes. Export the same months from last year too, and the report does the comparison on its own.

Technical details

Every report ships connected to an Excel file, the simplest setup when you don't have a data infrastructure. You can swap that file for your own Excel files, and, more importantly, connect the report directly to your sources.

Possible sources

  • Meta Ads (Facebook and Instagram)

    By export
Your campaigns, day by day, exported from Ads Manager in Excel or CSV.
    Direct connection
    The Meta Ads API.
  • Google Ads

    By export
Your campaign report, day by day, in Excel or CSV.
    Direct connection
    The Google Ads API.
  • Google Analytics 4

    By export
Sessions and conversions by channel, device, country, campaign, and page, in Excel or CSV.
    Direct connection
    The Google Analytics API.
  • Facebook and Instagram pages

    By export
Your page and post insights, exported from Meta Business Suite in Excel or CSV.
    Direct connection
The Meta API, for your Facebook and Instagram pages.
  • A tracker kept in Excel

    By export
Your numbers, in the format of the delivered file.
    Direct connection
The report connects to your own Excel file instead.

A direct connection takes some setup on your side, and the closer you get to the source, the more technical it gets. I can help you connect through consulting services, so everything goes as smoothly as possible.

    built into the report
  • Power BI Desktop file (.pbix), ready to publish to the Power BI service.
  • Four pages: Overview (eight ad KPIs vs. prior year, spend by month and platform, Meta vs. Google funnel), Acquisition (GA4 sessions and conversions by channel, a scatter chart of spend vs. conversions by theme, a campaign table), Website (seven GA4 KPIs, sessions by device and country, a page table), and Social Media (eight organic KPIs, reach and engagement by month, followers gained and lost, top posts); Year, Month, Platform, Campaign, and Network filters, depending on the page.
  • Data loaded by Power Query from the 13 named Excel tables of the anonymized dataset, which you replace with your exports; each table and each column is read by its name, in any order.
  • Two separate conversion counts, never mixed: the conversions Meta and Google report (Overview page) and GA4 conversions, measured on the site and credited to a single source (Acquisition and Website pages). Spend is always the amount the ad platforms report.
  • Star schema: seven fact tables (ads; sessions by channel and device, by country, by campaign, and by page; social media by day and by post), six lookup tables (platforms, channels, campaigns, devices, countries, networks), and a calendar rebuilt at every refresh, which limits the prior year to the same months. The campaign list links the ad platforms' numbers to GA4's.
  • DAX measures: spend, impressions, clicks, conversions, CPA, and ROAS; sessions, engagement, bounce, duration, and GA4 conversions; GA4 CPA and ROAS by campaign; followers, reach, interactions, and organic engagement rate; prior year and variances for every card.
  • Rates and ratios calculated on period totals; variances in % for amounts and counts, in points for rates; badges follow the favorable direction: a falling CPA or bounce rate shows in green.
  • Followers read as a stock, on the last day of the period, network by network. A campaign shows in red when its GA4 ROAS is in the bottom quarter or its GA4 CPA in the top quarter of the campaigns shown, or when it has no GA4 conversion.
  • Add a campaign, channel, or country with one row in the workbook and a refresh: nothing to change in Power BI.

Your report is ready. All it needs is your numbers.

One payment, no subscription. You get the report, its deployment guide, and an anonymized dataset already loaded. Connect your source, and your report is ready to use.
