What to know before you buy
Answers to the questions we hear most before a purchase, from getting started to the invoice.
Do I need technical skills?
You don't need to know how to code. You need to know how to open Power BI Desktop, which is free, and follow a step-by-step guide: the deployment guide that comes with every report. If you've ever loaded an Excel file into Power BI, you have the skills you need.
You start by testing the report with the anonymized dataset that comes with it. Then you connect your own numbers, at your own pace.
Will my data fit the report?
The report is flexible. At the bottom of each template's page, the "Technical details" section shows how it's built today. If your columns have different names, the deployment guide lists the expected headers, column by column, and where to find each one in your software. You rename the headers of your export in Excel.
Is your export very different? Before you buy, send an anonymized extract to emilien@datapilot.fr. I'll tell you honestly, within 48 business hours, whether the report can use it.
Which data sources does it work with?
The easiest option is an Excel export from your accounting, payroll, CRM, or marketing software. It works very well.
Each template's page lists the big names in software, but the report connects to any data source. The deployment guide explains how to adapt the report to your systems. For a direct connection, I help you connect your tools during a consulting session.

Do I need a paid Power BI license?
Not to use the report on your own computer: Power BI Desktop is free. A Power BI Pro license lets you publish the report online and share it with colleagues. In the US, it costs $14 per user per month.
Usually, the person who publishes the report and each colleague who views it online need this license. If your company already uses Power BI, you may have these licenses already. Ask your IT team.

Can I change the report?
Yes, the file is yours. Add a metric, change the colors, create a page: make it fit the way you run your business.
You can also make these changes with me during a consulting session. For a bigger project, custom work is done at Datapilot.
Can I share the report with my teams or use it on a client project?
Yes, for your company's own needs: your teams can use it internally. To share it online, each viewer usually needs a Power BI license.
For client work, yes too: one purchase covers one project for one end client. Working with several clients? Email me about an extended license.
What is your refund policy?
If the file is defective or doesn't match its description, we fix or replace it, and if we can't, we refund you. The details are in our terms of sale.

Do you offer consulting?
Yes. Our consulting services give you one hour or a half day with me. You work on whatever you want: deploying the report, connecting a source, understanding a number, or adapting a page. I can take over during the video call, and the report stays with you, in your environment.
One hour costs €200 excl. VAT, and you book your call online after purchase. A half day costs €500 excl. VAT. I prepare it with your intake form, it takes place within 10 business days of purchase, and I can do the work for you. Afterward, your email questions get priority for 30 days. Add either one to your purchase or book it later.

How will I receive the report, and is payment secure?
By email, right after payment: one download link per report, to a .zip file with its 3 files. Inside, you'll find the Power BI report (.pbix), the deployment guide (PDF), and the anonymized dataset (.xlsx).
Payment goes through Stripe, on a secure checkout page. We never store your card details.
Will I get an invoice? Are prices before or after tax?
Yes. After payment, you get an invoice by email from AGEG France SAS, the company behind BI Template.
Our prices are shown excl. VAT, and taxes are calculated at checkout. A business based in an EU country other than France that enters its VAT number is invoiced without VAT (reverse charge).
